Carol Baker was the winner of our Kenny-Oke contest at the Carolina Ale House. Along with WCOS radio, T & J's had the opportunity to have karaoke out on the patio and have everyone not only listen to the contestants but gave them the opportunity to sing and have fun amongst friends. It was allot of fun!
Karaoke Fest was done in May '07 to raise money for the American Cancer Society and Camp Kemo. It was not only a Karaoke Contest but a Luau at Icy's Bistro. Along with T & J's Karaoke there was Linda's Karaoke, and Abosolut Entertainment that were involved in the event planning. It was allot of work but allot of fun for the community. And allot of help to the charities that we supported. Thank you to the people of the community for their continuing support.
Elgin celebrated their 100 year anniversary this year! In May 2008 The Town Committee had a singing contest alot like American Idol. The Winner won $1000.0, 2nd won $ 300.00 and 3rd won $200.00. It was a great event and alot of fun. Along with the Elgin Idol, there were other artists and bands there. Church choirs also performed. It was a great festival and a wonderful day to help raise money for the community.
